Terms & Conditions Policy

Private Skateboard Lessons

This policy outlines the terms and conditions for all private skateboard lessons provided by the business. By booking a lesson, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. Booking & Payment

All lessons must be booked and paid for in advance.
A booking is only confirmed once payment has been received.

By booking and paying for a lesson you confirm that you agree to these terms and conditions unless otherwise stated in a written agreement from Foundation Skate School.

Lessons are offered in pre-bookable time slots and are subject to availability.

2. Lesson Structure

• Lessons are 1 hour in duration
   
• Lessons are delivered as:
  
  
  • 1 to 1
     
  • 1 to 2
     
  • 1 to 3 (maximum)
     
• Lessons are suitable for skaters aged 8 years and over
   
• Lessons take place during open skatepark sessions, where other users may be present

Important:

Any participant under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult for the full duration of the lesson.

 The coach manages safety, space awareness, and session structure throughout the lesson.

Skate School & Venue

The skate school is operated independently from Exist Skatepark.
Exist Skatepark provides the venue, but all coaching, bookings, and lesson management are the responsibility of the skate school.

3. Pricing

Current lesson prices are:

• 1 to 1 lesson – £30
   
• 1 to 2 lesson – £50
   
• 1 to 3 lesson – £60
   

Block booking:

• 5 individual lessons – £5 reduction per hour e.g. 5 one to ones for £125 

All prices include the use of a skateboard and protective equipment and entry to Exist Skatepark for the duration of the lesson. If you wish to skate after your lesson this will incur an extra charge from Exist Skatepark charged at their standard entry rates.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations must be made by email or text message.

• 48 hours or more before the session: full refund
   
• 24–48 hours before the session: 50% refund
   
• Less than 24 hours before the session: no refund 

Failure to attend a booked session without notice will be treated as a late cancellation and is non-refundable.

5. Block Bookings

Block-booked lessons:

• Must be used by the same individual or agreed group
• Are non-transferable unless agreed in advance
• Are subject to the same cancellation policy as individual lessons
• Must be used within 3 months of the first lesson
   

6. Age & Parental Consent

Lessons are available to skaters aged 8 years and over.

All participants under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian consent before taking part. Consent forms must be completed before the first session.

7. Equipment & Safety

Protective equipment (helmet and pads) is provided and must be worn when instructed.

Participants are expected to:

• Follow coaching instructions at all times
   
• Behave respectfully towards other skatepark users
   
• Use equipment appropriately
   

The coach reserves the right to pause or stop a session if safety instructions are not followed.

8. Skatepark Environment

Lessons take place at Exist Skatepark during open sessions.

As a shared environment:

• Other skatepark users may be present
   
• Space will be shared respectfully
   
• Session activities may be adapted to ensure safety
   

9. Health & Fitness

Participants (or parents/guardians) are responsible for ensuring the skater is physically fit to take part in skateboarding activities.

Any medical conditions, injuries, or additional needs that may affect participation should be disclosed before the lesson.

10. Insurance & Liability

Skateboarding is a physical activity and carries an inherent risk of injury. Participation is at the skater’s own risk. All reasonable steps are taken to minimise risk during lessons.

11. Changes & Cancellations by the Coach

In rare circumstances, lessons may need to be cancelled or rescheduled due to illness, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.

If this happens:

• An alternative session will be offered, or
   
• A full refund will be provided
   

12. Photography & Media

Photos or videos may occasionally be taken for coaching or promotional purposes.

Images of under-18s will only be used with prior parental consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

13. Amendments to This Policy

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time.
The most current version will always be available on the website.
